t has been 35 years since the prohibition of rodhamine B textile dyes to be used as a food
coloring agent, but its abuse is still being found.
Colorimetric determination of rhodamine
B content in
red crackers using Zn(CNS)
2
reagent and imageJ application was carried out
in this study.
This method shows that rhodamine B analysis can be done using simple
equipment.
Standard curves made with concentrations of 1 to14 ppm showed a good
relationship bet
ween concentration and absorbance with a value of R
2
= 0.9985.
The
cracker samples A, B and C used in this study were obtained from Pasar Ranggeh
Gondangwetan, Pasuruan. Samples A and C were positive for rhodamine B with a level of
0.8296 ppm and sample C
was 0.8203 ppm, while sample C was negative.
The accuracy
expressed in% recovery shows good results with an average value of 98.98% and 95.74%.
The precision in the repeatability category also shows good results with the RSD values
of
samples A and C of 0.7884% and 0.7066%
